Khushwant Singh starts off the narrative by connecting himself with the readers via a common 'link' that is having a grandma. It's quite fun, reading the description of the
author's grandpa and also how he is hesitant in accepting the fact that his grandma was actually beautiful in her early years.
In the whole story the author recalls the various instances of him being with his
grandma right from their village life to the busy city and how their friendship vanished

slowly.
I liked it that the author never wrote that he regretted not spending time with her grandma.
He adhered to the rule -' Never put in your personal thoughts in a character sketch. '
Overall its a good read.
